2022/23 National County Sports Meet Kick-off in Buchanan, Host Grand Bassa County, Bows to Neighboring River Cess County

The National County Sports Meet 2022/23 edition got underway with a standard and entertaining game between host Grand Bassa County and neighboring River Cess County at the famous open-air Doris Williams Sports Stadium in Buchanan on Saturday.

Following the dramatic start to the 2022/23 National County Sports meet 1956 champions Maryland County was held to a goalless draw by all-time champions Grand Kru County at the Martha Tubman sports stadium in Happer City, Maryland County.
In the kickball match, Maryland county and Grand Kru County settled to a one-all draw.
The opening matches in football recorded four wins, four losses, and three draws across four venues in Liberia.
River Cess, Lofa, Bomi, and Gbarpolu counties all collected a win on match day one.
A total of Thirteen goals was scored by seven counties on match day one.
