Man, 19 Sent to Prison for Murdering Friend Over US$10 Debt

The Monrovia City Court has sent to prison a 19 year old man for allegedly murdering his friend for USD$10.

On Friday September 30,  victim Emmanuel Sheriff had gotten into a verbal exchange with the defendant over the balance of 10 dollars owed him by Gartoe.

According to police charged sheet,  the argument intensified between the two and the victim was stabbed on his neck with a scissor.

The victim was a resident of the Doe community, located outside Monrovia.

Defendant Gartoe crime is said to be in violation of Chapter 14 section 14.1 of the revised penal code law of Liberia, for purposely, knowingly and intentionally using a scissor as he claimed to defend himself an in the process, murdering his friend.
