Ambassador FC 2-1 Determine Girls; Defending Champions Fall to League Leader

It was the biggest showdown in the Women’s Upper League on match day fifteen over the weekend at the famous Antoinette Tubman Stadium in central Monrovia.

A match filled with tension and pressure as the fight for the championship continued between two countless female clubs who’s has established themselves as a title contender in the last two years.

League leader Ambassador recorded their thirteen league victory in fifteen league games played in the top flight of the Liberian Women’s League; the win moved Ambassador six points clear on top of the twelve team’s log.

Decontee Jackson opens the scoring for the home side in the nine minutes when she fired in a clinical finish to put Ambassador FC in the driving seat before Maitta Morris doubled Ambassador’s lead with a sweet left-footed goal in the fifteen minutes giving Ambassador FC a comfortable first-half lead with a 2-0 advantage in the first half.

For all of their pushing and probing though, a quarter of the match went by without Ambassador FC able to create a clear-cut chance, with the Determine Girls FC defense standing strong.
Just after the half-hour mark, Darboe broke their resolve when she make use of a poor clearance from defender ZB and fired in a right-footed finish to pull one back for the visitors.

Determine Girls get the equalizer from inside the box but the central referee spotted a foul in the build-up and so the goal was chalked off which was one of the best calls in the match.

Defending champions Determine Girls suffer their first league defeat in thirty-five league games.
