Big Boost to Liberia Football Association, as U-17 Sets to Benefit Training in Saudi Arabia and Others

As part of the collaboration between the Saudi Arabia Football Federation and the Liberia Football Association (LFA), the head of the Liberia football governing body, Mustapha Raji has confirmed that the Liberia U-17 Female team will travel to Saudi Arabia for intensive training.
According to President Mustapha Raji, A players who will be over the age of seventeen will be removed to the Under-20.
INFRASTRUCTURE
Speaking on infrastructure development, the LFA Boss said the Saudi Arabia Football Federation has also agreed to install artificial turf at the Stephen Tolbert Sports Pitch as part of its commitment to the growth of football in Liberia.
The agreement comes following a daylong meeting in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday organized by the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Football Association, Yasser bin Hassan Al-Mishal, with the President of the LFA.
The meeting was attended by the Vice President of the Liberian Federation, the Deputy Minister of youth & Sports G Andy Quamie, and the Secretary General of the Saudi Federation, Ibrahim Al-Qasim.
In a related development, the LFA President said the visit to Saudi Arabia shows good prospects after the two countries reached a “technical cooperation agreement”.
“I’m proud to announce that six members of our referees will be traveling to Saudi Arabia to participate in an elite referee course and they will also provide additional communication equipment for referees in our national leagues,” said the LFA Boss.
“In addition to that, an eight-team tournament including a team from Saudi Arabia will be hosted by Liberia in honor of His Excellency Dr. George M. Weah as a way of strengthening the bond between the two countries.
Meanwhile, LFA has accepted the blame following the disqualification of Liberia Under-17 from the West Africa championship held in Mauritanian.
Addressing a major press conference at the Liberia Football headquarters over the weekend, Raji said the LFA will honor the decision from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and take responsibility for the unexpected situation in Mauritanian vowing to lunch a serious investigation into said happening.
“We as the football association as the manager of the national teams take full responsibility for all activities, Under-15, Under-17, and all national teams.
With the situation in Mauritania being unfortunate, we are heartbroken, but again we take responsibility and ensure that the necessary measures will be taken place shortly involving all our national teams.”
At the same time, the LFA Boss name a three men investigation team to investigate what lead to the Under-17 disqualification from the Under-17 tournament.
The team is headed by LFA’s second Vice President Adolphus Saye Dolo, George Joseph Kollie, and Dr. Molubah to conduct further investigation as relates to the disqualification of the team.

Meanwhile, an unconfirmed report says the Liberia Under-17 might get two years to ban all CAF football activities due to the age cheating that caused the team’s disqualification from WAFU under-17 nation’s tournament.
