Bong, Nimba Counties to benefit from LFA’s Developmental Gesture

The Growth and Development of Football in Liberia under the leadership of Liberia Football Association (LFA) President Mustafa I. Raji continue to put smiles on the faces of sports lovers across the Country.

Under the leadership of President Mustapha Raji at the LFA, the process of decentralization of football remains one of the major targets. Since his ascendancy to the highest seat of the Liberian FA on September 8, 2018, the LFA has completed the installation of several sports pitches across Liberia.

It can be recalled on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, the LFA leadership headed by its President Mustapha I. Raji delegated the famous open-air Tusa Field in New Georgia with artificial turf installed on the playing pitch for the first time since the establishment of the field. Just within six days the LFA again announced the turning over of the SKD Practice pitch with the ceremony taking place on Tuesday the 13th of April 2021.

Meanwhile on Thursday, April 22, 2021 the LFA put smiles on the faces of citizens in Grand Bassa County when the LFA turned over the Doris Williams Sports Stadium in the port city of Buchanan.

With Montserrado and Grand Bassa Counties benefiting from such gestures in 2021, Bong and Nimba Counties are the next two counties to benefit from such a developmental gesture.
A group of delegates from the Liberia Football Association headed by Alex Nagbo along with a team from FIFA was at the famous David Kuyon Sports Stadium in Gbarnga City, Bong County on Tuesday afternoon to carry on testing of soil and other surveys before installing artificial turf at the facility for the first time in the history of the county.

Per the reports Carlos Gazapo and Xavier Tordera from FIFA successfully conducted the soil testing and geotechnical survey at the David Kuyon Sports Stadium in Gbarnga City, Bong County, and the Gompa Sports Stadium in Ganta City, Nimba County on Tuesday afternoon.
Before coming to Gbarnga, the delegates carried out a similar exercise at Gompa Sports Stadium in Ganta City, Nimba County.

According to the report the team is expected to give the results of the exercise in the coming weeks.
