CDC Youth League Condemns Rep. Kolubah, but Ignore Partisan Gray’s Role in UL Violence- Latest Liberian News

MONROVIA – The National Youth League of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change has come under a barrage of criticisms for pointing accusing fingers at opposition lawmaker, Yekeh Kolubah and ‘turning blind eyes’ on its partisan Representative Acarous Gray’s role in the violence at the University of Liberia recently.
Rep. Gray has come under sustained condemnations for instigating the violence after he stormed the UL Capitol Hill Campus in a challenge to the vanguard Student Unification Party (SUP) who had declared the campus as a no-go zone for any public officials engage in ‘looting the state at the expense of the massive.’
Gray’s appearance led to a violent altercation between his group and members of SUP that lead to the injury of several people. In response, Rep. Kolubah (District #10, Montserrado) stormed the University with his supporters.
However, in a press conference after the incident, the CDC Youth League through its National Chairman express its deepest concern regarding the wave of violent threats and pre-electoral violence actions from Chief Strategists and high-ranking officials of the opposition Unity Party of former Vice-President Joseph Nyumah Boakai and the Alternative National Congress of Mr. Alexander B. Cummings.
The Youth League accused Rep. Kolubah of ordering his supporters and SUP members to torture, manhandled, and inflict bodily wounds on several ‘innocent students’ including a motorcyclist named Ansu Sirleaf.
According to them what is most troubling is the conspicuous silence and inaction of the standard-bearer of the Unity Party Mr. Joseph Nyumah Boakai and Mr. Alexander B. Cummings of the Alternative National Congress while their officials and supporters continue to create mayhem against innocent citizens.
However, critics have fired back at the CDC Youth League for ignoring Rep. Gray, a ranking member of their party who instigated the violence.
“This is a hypocrisy at its highest level. How come you are not condemning the chief instigator who stormed the campus with his thugs and you attacking Hon. Kolubah and he opposition,” said Maxwell Johnson, responding to the CDC Youth League on Facebook.
“The CDC Youth League is a bunch of violent thugs used by Gray and Koijee to accomplish their violent mission, just as was seen at the UL Campus. That’s why they are turning their blind eyes on the action of Gray and accusing others,” added another blogger identified as Ray Daniels.
“Let me state this clearly members of the fourth Estate, we cannot and will not take these malevolent human rights abuses and violence instigated by the opposition for granted because they could undermine the hard-earned peace and degenerate the country into chaos.”
