China Union pledges to fulfill responsibilities, offers apology for any wrongdoing.

China Union Mining Company, one of the largest mining companies in China, has made a significant commitment to its employees and the local community.

During a recent visit to the company's site in Bong Mine Fuamah District, Bong County, the company's management team announced their dedication to maintaining a good working relationship with their employees and treating them fairly.

China Union Bong Mining Company, Liberia LTD acquired a 25-year mineral development agreement (MDA) from the Liberian government in 2010, worth US$2.6 billion, but was forced to close its mining operations due to the low price of iron ore on the world market.

The Mineral Development Agreement (MDA), with a value of over US$2 billion, was the second largest concession agreement entered into during the administration of former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

The Bong Mining concession was previously acquired and operated by the Germans in the early 1960s but was forced to shut down its mining activities due to the civil crisis in the ‘90s.But recognizing the importance of corporate responsibility, China Union Mining Company has pledged to ensure that its operations do not have any negative impact on the local community. This commitment comes as a welcome assurance to both employees and residents who have expressed concerns about the potential environmental and social consequences of mining activities.

"We understand that our employees are the backbone of our company, and we are committed to treating them with respect and fairness," said a spokesperson for China Union Mining Company. "We also recognize our responsibility to the local community and are committed to operating in a way that is sustainable and responsible."

To demonstrate their commitment, the company has invested heavily in high-quality working equipment. This investment aims to provide a safe and efficient working environment for their employees. By prioritizing the safety and well-being of their workforce, China Union Mining Company is setting a positive example for other mining companies in the region.

The management team emphasized that they understand the importance of a harmonious relationship with their employees. They recognize that a motivated and content workforce is crucial for the success of the company. By treating their employees fairly and ensuring their well-being, China Union Mining Company aims to foster a positive work environment that encourages productivity and loyalty.

Furthermore, the company's commitment to corporate responsibility extends beyond its employees. China Union Mining Company aims to be a responsible corporate citizen by actively engaging with the local community. They plan to collaborate with community leaders and stakeholders to address any concerns and contribute to the development of the region.

This announcement by China Union Mining Company has been met with optimism and appreciation from both employees and the local community. It signifies a significant step towards responsible mining practices and sets a benchmark for other companies in the industry.

China Union Mining Company is one of the largest mining companies in China, with operations in several countries around the world. The company has a reputation for investing heavily in its employees and maintaining high standards of corporate responsibility.

China-Union took over Bong Mines, located around 150 km (94 miles) northeast of the capital, with one of the largest sums put into the country since President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was first elected in 2005 following a civil war.

It aims to ship 10 million tonnes by 2016. As part of the deal, the firm agreed to pave the road to the town of Kataka.

Iron represents one of Liberia's key resources but the sector was decimated by decades of under investment and production at Bong Mines stopped during a conflict that started in 1989 and finally ended in 2003.
