Cllr. Gongloe to Prioritize Agriculture if Elected President of Liberia

The Political leader of the Liberia People’s Party (LPP), Cllr Taiwan Gongloe has named Agriculture as a major part of his administration if he is elected President of Liberia.

According to the human rights lawyer, they will ensure that every aspect of the agriculture sector is straightened to make Liberia self-sufficient in food production.

He noted that under his stewardship as President, he will ensure that rice is produced by the Armed Forces of Liberia (ALF) in all the Counties across the Country to stabilize hunger, which is the enemy of men.

“The Army as our defender against our enemy will begin to produce rice in all of the counties so that rice can be plenty in this land” he revealed

Cllr. Gongloe’s comments come at a time when the Liberia market is facing a shortage as well as an increase in the price of its staple food.

Recently, several local business owners were seen at various rice distributors in queues to acquire the commodity.

The presidential aspirant Counselor Tiawon Gongloe made the disclosure when he addressed hundreds of people in Gompa, Nimba County.

Gongloe at the same time noted that his government will endeavor to provide free healthcare for children under five years and people above 65 years as well as free education from kindergarten to twelve grades.

He however noted that as a means to fight corruption, funds generated from resources will be used in assisting pregnant women adding ” there will be free access to healthcare for all pregnant women until they deliver.” “We will make sure that the money we will get, this is what we do with it” Gongloe assured the people of Nimba County.
