Jurors Find Man Guilty of Killing 18-Yr old Girlfriend

Trial jurors sitting over a murder case in Criminal court “A” has unanimously handed down a guilty verdict against a 22-year-old male who murdered his girlfriend on May 15, 2022.
The guilty verdict by ten out of twelve jurors rendered against defendant Valington Kaiser on Wednesday follows a presentation of CCTV footage produced in open court by state prosecutors, which showed the defendant and victim together on the day of the murder.
At the time of the trial, state prosecutors third witness provided CCTV video evidence in open court to aid the prosecution in the alleged murder case.
LNP chief investigator Raffell Wilson testified to a CCTV video evidence that captured defendant Kaiser, AKA Bishop with the deceased late hours before her death.
According to Officer Wilson, defendant Kaiser testified to being the person in one of the CCTV videos that were displaced in open court during the trial but denied being in the other videos.
It can be recalled that on May 16, 2022, then-20-year-old Valington Kaiser was arrested by the Liberia National Police for his alleged involvement in the gruesome murder of an 18- year- old girl identified as Fatu Blasuah.
He was charged with the crime of murder; a felony of the first degree in violation of 4LCLR, Title 26, Section 14.1, Section 50.5, and Section 2.2. and subsequently forwarded to court where he has been tried for the past weeks.
The case at Criminal court A has lasted for two weeks and based on deliberations deduced; trial jurors found the defendant guilty on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, approximately 10 months after the incident had occurred.
Meanwhile, after reading the jurors’ guilty verdict, Judge Roosevelt Willie of Criminal court “A” ordered the clerk to inform the probation office of the Ministry of Justice to report on defendant Kaiser’s character before he had committed the alleged act.
Judge Willie said the report will enable the court to make an informed decision regarding his sentencing and the report should be sent to the clerk’s office before the final ruling.
He furthered that the ruling will be conducted on March 9, 2023, adding that all parties are advised to take cognizant of the time.
