Judge wants Liberians adhere to Rule of Law
River Gee County Resident Circuit Court Judge says the Rule of law is the prerequisite for investment, economic development and prosperity for Liberia.
According to Judge George Smith, if Liberia must progress, Liberians must adhere to the Rule of law.
Speaking as the orator of this year’s 175th Flag Day celebration in River Gee county, Judge Smith noted that one of the indicators that was mentioned in the World Bank Report that Liberia failed was the Enforcement of contract rights, which he said is part of the rule of law.
Judge Smith furthered that the June 2021 National Judicial Conference held in Montserrado County captured said indicator as part of its agenda.
He noted that in order to have an enabling and friendly business climate in Liberia that will attract business investors, a strong independent, impartial and accountable Liberian Judiciary should be in place to allow citizens enjoy national economic development and prosperity.
