Juve Sign Tim Weah amid $12M Deal with Lille

Timothy Weah, the son of Liberia’s “Footballing” President George Weah, has reached another milestone in his career after he signed for Italian Giants Juventus.
Earlier this week, Tim Weah, accompanied by his mother First Lady Clar Marie Weah and elder brother Champ Weah, landed in Turin to put pen to paper after Juventus and Tim’s former club Lille reached a $12m agreement that includes bonuses.

It was reported that Champ Weah represented his father as the player’s agent, and with his guardian, the U.S. Men National Team (USMNT) player agreed to personal terms with the Bianconeri. He passed the medical and the deal was signed.
After playing for Paris Saint-Germain and Celtic, Tim Weah moved to Lille in the summer of 2019 where, over the past four years, he played 107 games and scored eight goals. With the USMNT, he played 31 games and scored four times, including the goal against Wales in the team’s opening match of the 2022 World Cup, where he was a starter in all four games.

The American was used in a variety of positions at Lille this season, who finished fifth in Ligue 1 to qualify for the Europa Conference League, including a solid stint in both full-back roles despite playing as a striker during the World Cup for his national team.
