LFA Kick-Off First Ever Anti-Doping Workshop in Liberia

On Tuesday, July 18, the Liberia Football Association under the leadership of President Mustapha Raji kicked off the first-ever Anti-Doping workshop in Monrovia Under the theme “Promoting Awareness On Anti-Doping in Football”.
Day one of the two-day workshop held at the Colony Hotel in Congo Town brought together more than sixty-one participants from various clubs under the eyes of the Liberia Football Association.
With the anti-doping unit, players will be subject to random testing to maintain the integrity of the sport and uphold fair play.
Giving the overview of the Program, Liberia Football Association Medical Manager Dr. Clarence Yaskey encouraged participants to take advantage of such opportunities.
“To all participants here today please you guys are enjoying history and you should take full advantage of this training,” said Dr. Clarence Yaskey.
Declaring the two days workshop open the President of the Liberia Football Association Mustapha Raji says the training is an opportunity for Liberia and extended his thanks and appreciation to CAF president Dr. Patrice Motsepe for listening and coming to his call for Anti-Doping to be in Liberia Football.
” We must say a big thank you to CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe for such a great and historical opportunity and we are grateful for such a historical journey “.
The LFA Boss also used the occasion to pay tributes to fallen LFA Technical Director the late Henry Browne whom he said was a key member behind all the technical developments in Liberia football sectors.
“Today we are here on this historic day but unfortunately it’s saddened that we lost our a men who contributed to the bulk of these programs, and I will like to say may the soul of the late Henry Browne rest in perfect peace.” Said Mustapha Raji.
Day one witnessed three great facilitators namely Sheriff Aboo El Enein of Egypt, Dr. Zakia Bartegi of Tunisia, and Dr. Clarence Yaskey of Liberia.
At the end of the two-day long workshop, each participant will be certificated as the first trained Anti-Doping agent in the history of Liberia.
Per FIFA standards every player who is bound by the FIFA Anti-Doping Regulations may be asked to undergo a doping control test performed by CAF and if a player who is selected is injured, the injury will be assessed by CAF Medical Officer before said player is approved to play in said gameLFA Kick-Off First Ever Anti-Doping Workshop in Liberia
