LFA Sets New Date for 2021/2022 Awards Ceremony

The Liberia Football Association 2021/2022 awards committee has extended the nomination process to late October, adding that sports lovers and followers of football can understand how the process is done.

Addressing a major Press at the headquarters of the LFA in Monrovia on Tuesday Miss Benita Urey, a member of the awards committee said the extension of the date is meant to give other Liberian the full opportunity to excise their right in nominating their best players and coaches including journalists that contributed a lot to the league season.

She added that the LFA will recognize fans for their love and tireless support of clubs something she noted that is the first time such to be added this year since the football house was established in 1936.

Speaking further Miss Urey’s mentioned that the LFA awards committee has shortlisted thirty-six Liberian sports journalists that they believed have worked tirelessly in providing updates on the league.

“We want to inform the public that we are extending the deadline for nomination to October 28 and the reason we are doing that is to make sure that more football lovers and more stakeholders as well as sports journalists who played a key part can participate.”

At the same time, the LFA has officially set December 3rd of this year as the new date for the 2021/2022 awards night instead of November 12 which was early selected for this year’s awards ceremony.

When asked about the deadline Miss Urey added that the nomination process will end on October 28, while the voting process ends on the 21st of November to enable the committee to process all votes.

“This is to officially announce that this year’s awards ceremony will take place on December 3rd instead of November 12, 2022, and we will have the public informed that the voting process win ends on November 21, 2022.”

Meanwhile, the LFA has outlined the percentage counts for the nomination and voter process that will enable every individual to understand the entire process.

Below are the percentage counts:
1). Public ——-20%
2). Journalist —— 25%
3). Captain ——– 25%
4) . Coaches —- 30%
