Lofa-Unconfirmed Provisional Results Seem To Put UP Kortimah in the Lead

Reports reaching K-NEWS from Lofa County says Unity Party candidate, Galapkai Kortimah is ahead of his fellow contenders in the county

Citizens of Lofa on Tuesday, June 28, trooped their way to various precincts to cast their vote for individuals they believed can make a proper representation for them at the Liberian senate.

This is the second time in less than three years citizens of Lofa have gone to the polls to fill in the vacancy created following the defeat of the county’s former Senator, George Tengbeh to former Defense Minister Brownie Samukai in 2020.

As it stands, provisional results from Lofa reveal that Unity Party candidate Galapkai Kortimai has, so far, secured proximate number of 17019 votes while independent candidate Joseph Jallah has 10432 votes ahead of other contenders.

At polling place 3, of the V.F.P.M. High school voting precinct in District #4, UP candidate Kortimah obtained 68 votes while Independent Candidate Jallah secured 18 votes. At polling place 4, of the same precinct, Kortimah received 73 votes while Cllr. Jallah got 18 votes.

Provisional results from polling place 3, of the St. Joseph Catholic School in District #4, indicates that UP candidate Galakpai Kortima got 44 votes while Independent candidate Joseph Jallah secured 25 votes.

In other areas like Foya polling place 4, UP candidate Kortimah receives 15 votes, while independent candidate Joseph Jallah had 177 votes.

At polling place 6, independent candidate Jallah receives 107 votes while candidate Kortimai receives 10 votes. At polling place seven in Foya, UP Candidate Kortimah receives 18 votes while independent candidate Joseph Jallah receives 95 votes.
