Man, 20, sent to court for allegedly raping a 9-year old girl

A twenty-two-year-old man has been charged and forwarded to court for allegedly raping a nine-year-old minor in the Chicken Soup Factory Community.

Defendant Tamba Taylor was arrested on July 18, 2023 at his residence in Chicken Soup Factory.

According to the Police charge sheet, the survivor narrated that on Tuesday night, July 11, 2023, she was sent by her mother to buy food on the nearby street, and as she passed by Defendant Taylor’s room, he hulled her in and raped her.

She said after Taylor’s got through with the act, her mother, who has been in search of her, forcibly opened Taylor’s door and met him naked.

But defendant Taylor denied the allegation.

If found guilty, the act violates Chapter 14.70a of the new rape law of Liberia and is punishable with long prison sentence including life imprisonment.
