Man City Sink Inter to Win First Champions League Title, Complete Historic Treble

Manchester City have just beaten Inter Milan to be crowned as champions of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.

Rodrio’s spectacular goal in the 74th minute was enough to seal the vital win for City, and in the process, become the second English side, after Manchester United to win the treble – Premier League, FA Cup and the Champions League in one season.

The win also marks Coach Pep Guardiola first Champions League title since his departure from Barcelona.

The game was fairly even with both sides missing several chances. But City’s goal keeper Ederson was outstanding with several magnificent saves from Inter’s talisman Romelu Lukaku and co.

The 2022/23 UEFA Champions League final took place at Istanbul’s Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Turkey.

Before the match, Nigeria musical star Burna Boy delivered an electrifying medley performance of his global hits, “Last Last” and “It’s Plenty” live.

This is the second major UEFA competition final to be staged at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium, with Liverpool having beaten AC Milan on penalties in the same venue in the final of the 2004/05 Champions League. The Reds triumphed despite trailing 3-0 at half-time, the ‘Miracle of Istanbul’ regarded as one of the most sensational comebacks in European football history.
