“No CDC Supporters Died” – CDC Dismisses Fake Social Media Reports of Fatal Accident

GBARNGA – The Chairman of the Coalition for Democratic Change-Bong Chapter Sayblee Weyea, has strongly denied the accuracy of information circulating on social media claiming that two CDC supporters lost their lives in a tragic motor accident along the Gbarnga-Ganta Highway on Wednesday, September 13.

In a telephone conversation with K-News on Thursday morning, Mr. Weyea clarified that while it is true that two party supporters were involved in a tragic accident, no deaths occurred as reported in the public domain.

He explained that the incident transpired when one of their campaign vehicles had gone to retrieve some billboards in Palala, Kpaai District. On their way back to Gbarnga, the supporters who were holding the billboards were reportedly blown off the vehicle due to a strong gust of wind that they couldn’t withstand.

Chairman Weyea further informed that immediately following the accident, the two victims were swiftly transported to the Phebe Referral Hospital in Suakoko, Bong County, for medical treatment. He noted that both supporters are currently responding well to treatment, with medical professionals reporting minor injuries.

Additionally, the traffic division of the Liberia National Police-Bong Detachment has clarified that as of yesterday, no accident resulting in fatalities has been reported to the police.
