NPP’s Secretary-general Accuses VP Taylor of Sowing Discord in the Party

Ahead of its National Biennial Convention, the National Patriotic Party (NPP) alarms over what it called a looming threat by its Political Leader and Liberia’s Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor.
The NPP is a constituent party within the governing Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).
Addressing a press conference Thursday in Congo Town, the Secretary General of the NPP, Andrew Peters alleged that VP Taylor intends to cause confusion and disruption at the convention
This, he believes if done, may cause harm to the party and peaceful citizens.

He alleged that VP Taylor’s securities are in the constant habit of threatening leaders of the party thus causing insecurity for the NPP’s leaders.
“The vice wants to cause confusion and to disrupt the upcoming convention because she wants to include people she is interested in,” he said.
Mr. Peters however called on the Government of Liberia, and International Partners to intervene by providing security for them before, during, and after the convention.
Meanwhile, the NPP National Secretary General maintained that the party will go to the convention despite the situation.
“We want the government and our international partners to intervene to provide security for us during our convention and even after the convention”
“But we will still go for our convention despite the situation”
