Over 600 Liberians to benefit from International-Job Migration following Rep. Crayton Duncan Negotiation

The House’s Committee Chair on Foreign Affairs, Sinoe County District#1 Representative Crayton O. Duncan has concluded negotiation for what he calls International Exchange program between the U.S and Liberia.

The program has been around for decades and has benefited several Countries including the Philippines. On the average, a total of fifty thousand Professionals are recruited to travel for work within the United States of America and within this number, Liberia as a Country holds a total of 7% totaling 3,000 persons.

According to Hon. Duncan as Chairperson of the House’s Foreign Affairs Committee he did a research and found out and has since negotiated for Liberia to finally benefit from the International-Job migration program organized by the USA.

The Sinoe County District#1 Lawmaker disclosed at the weekend that a total of Six Hundred (600) Liberians are expected to be trained and migrated to the US as part of the first batch of Liberians ever to form part of the program.

He further mentioned that the trainers are already in the Country and a massive National recruitment exercise will begin shortly. The program is expected to train Nurses and other Professionals as required. A recruitment announcement will be made available to the Public as soon as possible.

He encourages Citizens across Liberia to take advantage of such opportunities to learn and return to help their Country in its rebuilding process.

Hon. Crayton says it is about time leaders of the Country invest in human capacity building.

“If we as leaders, the older ones don’t invest in the younger ones, it will be bad for our Country so it’s about time to encourage young Liberians to come onboard and invest their time into this International training program that subsequently see them positively contributing to the rebuilding process of Liberia”. Rep. Duncan averred.
