Pastor Calls for Medical Help to Save Church’s Members Diagnosed with Cancer
Duazon, Margibi County – The Pastor of the Hour of Prayer Church in Duazon Community Lower Margibi County, Samuel C. Johnson has made an SOS call on the Government of Liberia and all well-meaning Liberians to come to the aid of his church’s member who has been diagnosed with cancer.
Pastor Johnson said Sarah Gaweah, 16, was brought from Rivercess County to his church few months ago for deliverance with the belief that she has elephantiasis which is widely known in Liberia as GOWA.
The medical condition has caused Sarah’s right leg to be swollen and the enlargement is causing her severe pain.
The Pastor told Knews that while he was praying for Sarah, an American based Liberian organization called ‘Large Liberia’ administered a medical test and she was diagnosed with cancer.
According him, the medical team put the cost of the girl’s treatment at US$2,500; the amount he said her parents are not able to afford.
He is appealing to the President of Liberia, the Rivercess County Legislative Caucus and humanitarians and charity institutions to help the parents fund the treatment and save Sarah from the excruciating pain that she experiencing.
“As Christians, we also believe in the medical aspect of life. We are going to be playing our part through prayer, but we need the medical side to heal Sarah,” the Man of God lamented.
“The pain is not easy for the child. Every day she cries. So, this is an SOS call on behalf of the child. We are asking the government, the President and every well-meaning Liberian to please help us.”
