Gbanga, Bong County: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has confiscated a large quantity of unwholesome food and non-food items valued at approximately LD$70,000 from several businesses operating in Gbanga, Bong County.

The discovery was made on Monday, April 6, 2026, following a routine inspection by the inspectorate division of the Ministry in key commercial areas of the county.

The confiscated items include soft drinks, mineral water, energy drinks, and cups of paint, among other things. The Ministry said the goods were deemed unfit for consumption due to expiration and unwholesomeness.

During the inspection, Senior Commerce Inspector of Bong County, David Mentuah, stated that the Ministry will take punitive actions against the businesses caught selling unwholesome goods.

Mentuah emphasized that selling unwholesome products to the public poses serious health risks. He added that such acts violate business regulations and will not be taken lightly by the Ministry.

Inspector David Mentuah mentioned that the over LD$70,000 worth of goods will be properly disposed of to prevent environmental pollution.

This incident comes barely two weeks after the inspectorate team in Bong County discovered and disposed of several cartons of frozen fish and chicken from Banjah Branch #17 Frozen Food Enterprise.

The increasing number of such discoveries presents a major challenge to food security in the country, despite strict regulations enforced by local authorities.

Amid mounting concerns, Bong County Commerce Inspector Chief David Mentuah has strongly warned: “This is not just a violation of business regulations; it is a direct threat to public health. If this is not stopped, we risk a wider health crisis in this county.”

He noted that the inspection team has expanded its efforts across all seven electoral districts of Bong County, with over 20 businesses already visited and assessed.

The goal of these inspections, he said, is to enforce compliance, promote safe handling of goods, and ensure all businesses are properly registered.

“We are not only enforcing the law; we are also educating business owners. But compliance must be taken seriously,” he added.

Meanwhile, Inspector Mentuah pointed out that the lack of logistics is a major operational challenge for the local inspection team.

He explained that the absence of motorcycles or vehicles has hindered timely responses to intelligence reports. He called on the government, through the Commerce Ministry, to provide the necessary logistics to improve the team’s effectiveness.

“We are committed to protecting consumers, but the reality is we are using our own resources to conduct these inspections. This is not sustainable,” Mentuah pleaded

Paynesville, Liberia: Mounting concern over recent controversial statements by former warlord Joshua Milton Blaye and Montserrado County District 10 Representative Yekeh Kolubah has intensified calls from civil society organizations (CSOs) for the urgent establishment of a War and Economic Crimes Court in Liberia.

‎The statements widely viewed by civil society groups as provocative have instilled concerns on the Liberia social media amid territorial tensions between Liberia and neighboring Guinea, with many warning that such rhetoric risks reopening old wounds from the country’s brutal civil conflict.

‎Joshua Milton Blaye, popularly known as General Butt Naked, a loyalist to President Joseph Nyumah Boakai recently took to Facebook Live, cautioning that failure by Guinea to withdraw from disputed areas could result in loss of lives.

‎‎Around the same time, remarks attributed to Representative Kolubah also drew criticism for their tone, which CSOs say could inflame an already fragile situation.

‎“These are not just ordinary statements they are dangerous reminders of a past we are still struggling to heal from,” a civil society leader said. “When influential figures speak carelessly about conflict, it creates fear and uncertainty among ordinary citizens.”

‎Against this backdrop, scores of CSOs, including faith-based institutions, traditional leaders, women and youth groups, and the Organized West African Economic Crime Coalition of Liberia (OWECC-L), have renewed pressure on the government of Joseph Nyuma Boakai to move swiftly in establishing a permanent War and Economic Crimes Court through legislation.‎

‎Earlier in his administration, President Boakai issued an executive order to initiate the court’s creation, describing it as a vital step toward justice, accountability, and national healing.

‎However, the President also acknowledged that the court’s legitimacy and independence would ultimately depend on legislative backing.

‎CSOs now argue that the process has stalled.‎

‎“An executive order is not enough,” a youth advocate stated during a peaceful protest held Tuesday in Monrovia. “We need a law passed by the Legislature something permanent that cannot be easily reversed.”

‎Protesters gathered near the President’s rehab residence carrying placards reading, “Justice Delayed is Justice Denied” and “Establish the War Crimes Court Now.” The demonstration, organizers say, was directly influenced by the recent statements and the fear they have generated.

‎Speaking to journalists, Momolu S. Varney of the National Muslim Council of Liberia stressed that accountability mechanisms are critical in preventing future violence.

“If a War Crimes Court had been in place earlier, Liberia’s history might have been different,” Varney said. “Justice sets precedent, and precedent deters impunity.”

‎Varney also revealed that the coalition is advocating for the establishment of an Anti Corruption Court alongside the War and Economic Crimes Court, noting that corruption and conflict are often interconnected.

‎The push for these courts stems from recommendations by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which documented widespread human rights violations during Liberia’s civil wars from 1989 to 2003.

‎The TRC called for prosecutions for war crimes, crimes against humanity, sexual violence, and the looting of public resources.

Monrovia, Liberia: The International Pediatric Association (IPA), in collaboration with the Pediatric Association of Liberia (PAL), has successfully concluded a two-day vaccination awareness workshop in Monrovia, reinforcing national efforts to improve child health and immunization coverage.

Held at the Sinkor Palace Hotel under the theme “Immunization Champion Project,” the workshop brought together healthcare professionals, international policymakers, and child health advocates from across Montserrado County and beyond.

Participants from countries including Indonesia and Nigeria emphasized that immunization remains one of the most effective and proven methods to protect children against life-threatening diseases. Vaccines, they noted, help build immunity before exposure, significantly reducing the risk of infection and complications.

Speaking at the opening session, the President of the Pediatric Association of Liberia, Dr. Cecelia Nuta, underscored the urgent need to strengthen public awareness and address misinformation surrounding vaccines.

“We must continue to raise awareness and correct false information about vaccines,” Dr. Nuta stated. “Parents need to understand that even if a child misses a dose, it is not too late to catch up.”

Dr. Nuta highlighted that one of the major challenges facing Liberia’s immunization program is limited access to remote communities, where outreach services remain insufficient and many families are unable to receive regular vaccination support.

She further clarified concerns surrounding the Immunization Champions Project, a three-year initiative being implemented through the IPA-PAL partnership with support from the Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Health.

“This project is not in response to any outbreak,” she emphasized. “It is about prevention and ensuring that we do not repeat past public health failures.”

Referencing lessons from the Ebola outbreak, Dr. Nuta noted that weak community engagement previously contributed to the rapid spread of disease, stressing the importance of building trust and awareness at the grassroots level.

According to findings from Innovations for Poverty Action, immunization coverage remains critically low in some communities, with only approximately 15 percent of children fully vaccinated leaving many vulnerable to preventable diseases.

As part of the initiative, trained community health workers will be deployed over the next three years to engage directly with families, provide education, address vaccine hesitancy, and encourage full immunization.

The program is being implemented with support from the Ministry of Health and international partners, reflecting a coordinated and sustained effort to improve child survival and strengthen Liberia’s public health system.

Mixed reactions are flooding the social media as entertainment followers, especially Nigerians weigh in on the recent Grammy Awards, which saw South African Singer, Tyla Laura Seethal edging Nigerian Afrobeat Star Davido to win her second African Music Performance award.

Tyla was once again recognized on the international stage, at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 1, 2026, this time, for her hit, "Push 2 Start", over the Davido's sensational vibe "With You" featuring Omah Lay.

Nigerians have taken to the social media to strongly react to the Grammy Awards after their global star Davido flopped for the second time, alleging that this year's African Music Performance award was handed to the South African Pop and R&B Singer was not merit-based.

Tyla's "Push 2 Start" was nominated along with other hit songs including Burna Boy's "Love"; Davido's "With You";

Eddy Kenzo's "Hope & Love" and Ayra Starr's featuring Wizkid - "Gimme Dat".

Sharing his thoughts on social media, Popular Nigerian influencer VerDarkBlackMan penned via his official Instagram " Tyla again? Shout out to Davido, Burna Boy, Ayra Star and Wizkid. I really wanted Davido to win so as to create balance."

Both David and Tyla's hits have generated millions of streams across multiple social media platforms. As controversy grows, many believe Davido's "With You" resonated better than Tyla's"Push 2 Start", a view that remains largely debated after the just-ended Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, the United States.

Tyla Laura Seethal, 24, first swept the African Music Performance Award over Davido in 2024 with her single "Water". Davido, 33, is yet to pick a prize in the category, despite being nominated twice for the award, with "Unavailable" in 2024.

‎The Grammy Awards are the first of the Big Three networks' major music awards held annually, and are considered one of the four major annual American entertainment awards with the Academy Awards (for films), the Emmy Awards (for television), and the Tony Awards (for theater).

MONROVIA, LIBERIA: The opposition Liberian People’s Party (LPP) has intensified calls for the Government of Liberia to urgently reopen and conclusively resolve investigations into the mysterious deaths of several Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) and internal audit officials, warning that continued delays are eroding confidence in the country’s justice system and national security framework.

Speaking at a major press conference in Monrovia on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, LPP National Chairman Yanqui Zaza said the unresolved deaths of Gifty Lamah, Albert Peters, George Fanbutu, and Emmanuel Barten Nyeswua remain a disturbing symbol of institutional failure and political unwillingness to confront impunity.

“We cannot allow these deaths to remain unanswered. The silence and inaction by successive governments have eroded public trust in Liberia’s judicial system,” Chairman Zaza said, stressing that the cases have lingered for more than five years without credible closure.

It can be recalled, Two of the auditors were found dead inside a vehicle on Broad Street, Monrovia, on October 2, 2020, while another died days later in a separate incident. At the time, all were reportedly engaged in sensitive revenue and financial audits, a fact that immediately raised red flags and prompted calls for independent, internationally credible investigations.

In January 2026, the LPP, led by political leader Cllr. Tiawan Gongloe, renewed its accusation that the Boakai administration has failed to honor its accountability pledges.

The party also highlighted more recent cases, including the death of LRA auditor James N. Gomah in early 2025, which it claims has been met with official silence and alleged cover-ups.

For his part, Chairman Zaza extended the demand for justice to other unresolved deaths, including Emmanuel Yansuan, former Director General of the Internal Audit Agency; Melvin Erby of the Executive Protection Agency; AFL Sergeant Bobby Manneh; and John Hilary Tubman, son of former President William V.S. Tubman.

“We are demanding independent, impartial investigations into all these cases. The judicial system must operate free from political influence to restore public confidence,” he added.

Following commitment by the Boakai-Koung administration to reopen unresolved high-profile deaths—backed by a March 2025 presidential directive instructing the Ministry of Justice to act, the LPP argues that progress has been slow, opaque, and ineffective, further fueling public doubt amid reports of heavy spending by the justice sector without corresponding prosecutions.

In a press conference held Tuesday, January 13, 2026, CDC-COP National Chairman Foday N. Massaquoi took direct aim at a statement delivered on January 5, 2026 at the United Nations Security Council by Liberia’s Permanent Representative, Ambassador Lewis G. Brown II, who spoke on behalf of the A3 bloc comprising Liberia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Somalia.

The UN intervention urged restraint, dialogue, and a peaceful, Venezuelan-led solution to the crisis, emphasizing respect for international law, state sovereignty, and constitutional order.

Venezuela is experiencing severe in need, with millions lacking food, water, and healthcare due to reported economic collapse, political instability, and sanctions, leading to mass displacement.

Chairman Massaquoi critique the Liberian government's position, stating that the government has done little to address the prevailing economic hardship in its territory, and as such, it does represent interest of the Liberian populace.

“This government’s pronouncements at the United Nations amount to diplomatic noise that means nothing to Liberians who cannot afford three square meals,” he declared, insisting that Liberia’s voice abroad has become disconnected from the pain at home.

According to the CDC-COP Chairman, the Boakai-Koung regime has misplaced its priorities by projecting moral concern for Venezuela while failing to confront what he described as a deepening social and economic crisis in Liberia.

He noted that rising food prices, inflation, unemployment, and collapsing public services now dominate daily life, to the extent that “many Liberians believe eating one meal a day is an achievement rather than a tragedy.”

The opposition leader further alleged that Liberia’s foreign policy may be vulnerable to external manipulation. Without presenting alleged verified evidence, Massaquoi called for an investigation into claims of a possible financial transfer linked to the Venezuelan government, warning that any such influence would represent a grave affront to national sovereignty and democratic accountability.

Beyond foreign affairs, he used the moment to indict the administration’s broader governance record, accusing it of entrenching corruption and tolerating abuse of power.

“Corruption, which used to be a vampire under the Weah governments, has now been promoted to a Cabinet Minister and sits boldly in the Executive Mansion,” he charged, echoing a metaphor that has gained traction in public discourse.

He also cited allegations of police brutality and weak accountability as evidence that the regime speaks eloquently about law and order abroad while failing to uphold justice and dignity at home.

“We have a government that speaks eloquently abroad but fails to address corruption, insecurity, and economic collapse at home,” Massaquoi said, warning that public trust is rapidly eroding.

The CDC-COP Chairman went further to urge the international community to scrutinize the conduct of specific Liberian officials, arguing that accountability must extend beyond diplomatic speeches to the real consequences of policy failure.

He maintained that Liberia’s official UN position on Venezuela “does not represent the views or priorities of the Liberian people,” but rather exposes a widening gap between the state and its citizens.

Monrovia, Liberia: Former 2023 presidential candidate Cllr. Luther Yorfee of the Liberia Rebuilding Party (LRP) has called for inclusive politics, urging the formal integration of former Presidents George Manneh Weah and Ellen Johnson Sirleaf into governance.

Cllr. Yorfee warned that excluding experienced leaders threatens national unity, political stability, and investor confidence, emphasizing that Liberia’s development depends on collaborative leadership across party lines.

He insisted that former presidents should be placed in advisory roles directly connected to the Office of the President, framing their inclusion as essential to both policy effectiveness and political cohesion.

“Former presidents have the experience and exposure Liberia still needs. Bringing them closer to governance will promote unity and reassure foreign investors,” he said, presenting inclusive governance as a strategic necessity for national progress.

Highlighting current political tensions, Yorfee criticized the exclusion of former President George Weah, now opposition leader of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), asserting that sidelining experienced leaders undermines national progress.

“Sidelining experienced leaders, especially former presidents, is a mistake. Liberia needs everyone on board to move forward,” he said, making a direct appeal for cross-party cooperation.

The former presidential candidate also used the medium to address the dismissal of key officials from previous administrations, citing the suspension of National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA) Managing Director Emma Glasco in February 2025 over alleged financial and administrative mismanagement.

He stressed that institutional knowledge and continuity remain critical to effective governance.

“Reconciliation should not weaken institutions, but experience should not be ignored either,” he argued, linking inclusive politics with sustained institutional performance.

Expanding on his vision for leadership, Cllr. Yorfee proposed the creation of a Presidential Advisory Committee composed of former presidents and leading presidential aspirants to provide guidance on national policy.

He identified figures such as Alexander B. Cummings of the Alternative National Congress (ANC) and Simeon Freeman as potential members, underlining his commitment to governance informed by collective wisdom rather than partisan division.

Cllr. Yorfee also criticized opposition actors he accused of obstructing the Boakai administration through persistent negative campaigning.

“Opposition leaders should engage constructively, not hope for the failure of the government,” he said, reinforcing the message that inclusive politics requires responsible participation from all sides.

PAYNESVILLE, LIBERIA: Liberian heavyweight lifter, John Weah, alias "Gentle Giant", proved his resilience in the sport on Saturday, December 27, 2025, handing down defending champion, Thomas Benjamin, known as "No Fear", to win the 2025 National Heavyweight Championship in Liberia.

John Weah shocked spectators with his 6th round first finish, after stumbling in the early rounds. The "Gentle Giant" piled different weights from 300kg to 500+kg, in the great showdown, edging the defining champion and other closed rivals in an average pound lifted.

Weah's triumph marked his first National Heavyweight Championship in his professional career. He outshone notable names in the weight-lifting sport, including Thomas S. Benjamin "No Fear", Yusufu Kroma, "Lib Hulk", Amos N. Kamara "Pipeline Hulk", and Prince Kaydee "Sapo Giant".

The first round was highly contested, but John Weah (Gentle Giant) did two solid lifts late on. In the second, Weah took control delivering two precise lifts. The third round saw closed rival No Fear did some accurate lifts, after Weah's responses lost some sharpness.

Weah then rediscovered his rhythm in the fourth, fifth, and sixth rounds to explode. He defied the odds to clinch the "001" title against Thomas Benjamin (No Far) who emerged as the runner-up, and Yusufu Kroma (Lib Hulk) settling in the third place.

The 2025 grand final took place at the SKD Basketball Gym in Paynesville. The heavyweight competition is an event organized by the Liberia Strong Man Federation to show the physical strength of athletes and determine the strongest man in Liberia.

This year's challenge was dubbed the "Battle of the Giants." John Weah, the new strongest man, dominat display, surprised a lot of fans. Before the grand final, expectations were mainly shifted toward the defeated defending champion, No Fear, and the much-talked-about Sapo Giant.

Many predicted that it would have been a two-horse race between the No Fear and Sapo Giant, based on their showmanship and rivalry in recent months. However, the expectations proved otherwise on the day of the highly anticipated grand final.

ACCRA, GHANA: A reporter narrative—believe it or not, I have never seen one in my years of reporting entertainment stories, until Friday, December 26, 2025 when Nigerian female superstar Tiwa Savage angrily walked out of the stage at the "Taste The Culture Fest" in Ghana.

‎

‎I have only seen uncalled for performances around Paynesville City, in Liberia. I have actually walked out of a concert before, because artists were intoxicated. Other than that, I have never seen an artiste leaves the stage before a large crowd because of poor sound system.

‎

‎Tiwatope Savage, Two-time BET nominee, popularly called Tiwa Savage, a globally recognized Nigerian singer, songwriter, and performer had a heated melt down with "Taste the Culture Fest" organizers in Ghana over the sound quality of the music system.

The popular Nigerian female star furiously left the stage after complaining about the sound output. This led many crowd in shock, something that seems to be unusual for artistes.

‎The 2025 "Taste The Culture Fest", officially called “Taste The Culture is a Black Star Experience”, a major cultural festival held in Accra, Ghana, as part of the GH season events in December.

‎

‎The queen of afrobeats who is widely admired for her stage presence streamed at her crew, blaming them for not considering her instinct initially when she thought it would end up the way it did. I guess this is not Tiwa's first experience with the "Taste the Culture Fest, Ghana".

‎

‎The following conveys her statement:

‎

‎“Don’t tell me to calm down, I’m going home. What’s wrong with the sound? I’m not performing until it’s fixed.” Tiwa Savage angrily exits the Taste the Culture Fest, Ghana over sound issues.

‎

‎Hosted at the Independence Square (Black Star Square) in Accra, Ghana, the festival featured performances by several high-profile artists, including Black Sheriff, Amaarae and other Ghanian-based superstars.

‎

‎When ever you see a live performance, there is always a strong chance that something might go wrong.

‎

‎Sure, we saw Kpanto recently cut his performance short at Christoph The Change Independence Day Concert after being told what song to perform. It was an event that hosted over 30,000 spectators including the presence of the House Speaker, Richard Nagba Koon.

‎

‎After addressing her frustration, Tiwa who was scheduled to perform along with Omah Lay, Davido and others was only seen escorted by security to her car.

‎

‎In most cases, these issues can be addressed and fixed without much hassle as it eventually did, the crowd boosted her confidence by streaming "Savage", "Savage" and was later seen in a Twitter post performing songs like Kele Kele Love, Eminado, All Over and her recent classic hit "Somebody Son".

‎

‎But before her performance, Tiwa Savage who broke barriers for many female African artistes in a male dominated industry expressed something that was so encouraging to her fans: "I love and I Know you are disappointed and that's why I can't wait to perform, I know it is late but I want to make sure they get the sound right because you guys deserve the best".

A report coming from the Ashanti Region, in Ghana, has indicated that an unidentified Liberian national who travelled from Liberia to Ghana, hoping to board Ebo Noah’s modern-day ark, has been found in a distressed state on the streets of Elmina, Central Region.

‎

‎According to the information gathered, residents in the area took to social media early on Friday, December 26, 2025, seeking help and refuge for the man after videos showing him sitting alone and seemingly hopeless began circulating online.

‎

‎The Liberian who fell victim to Ebo Noah's Ark false prophecy, left his country with the belief that he could be saved from a prophesied flood revealed by the Ghanaian preacher Ebo Noah.

‎

‎For weeks, Ebo Noah, the self-proclaimed prophet, claimed that a catastrophic global flood would begin on December 25, 2025, and that only those aboard his constructed ark would be spared.

‎

‎Thousands of people from across Ghana, and reportedly some from neighbouring countries, travelled to his ark sites, some even selling personal belongings in the belief they would be rescued.

‎

‎However, no such flood occurred on Christmas Day (December 25, 2025). In the absence of the predicted catastrophe and after widespread disappointment, several victims, mostly from Kumasi, have expressed frustration, while others mock the failed prophecy.

‎

‎But Prophet Noah still maintains in a recent video that rain will come, stating that he is building more arks, underscoring consistency as he appears at Sarkodie’s Rapperholic.

‎

‎In a video shared widely on a social media platform, a Liberian man was seen lowering his head in despair as a Ghanaian woman explained his situation.

‎

‎The good Samaritan of Elmina, Central Region, reported that the man has been in tears since the early morning after realizing that the feared flood never came and that his hopes of salvation were misplaced.

‎

‎People in Takoradi, a popular coastal city in southern Ghana, have, however, composed a song for Ebo Noah.

A new video making rounds across social media platforms has revealed how Nigerian musical star Timaya experienced an unexpected moment during his performance at the Gbaramatu Christmas Carnival in Delta State, Nigeria.

‎

‎While thrilling the audience with his popular hit “Ukwu,” the veteran singer, who first trended widely in the mid‑2000s, invited a plus‑sized female fan on stage, only to lose his balance and fell while trying to lift the big nyansh lady.

‎

‎The incident caught on video and widely shared across platforms, saw Timaya quickly recover and continue his set to cheers from the crowd, underscoring both his professionalism and the unpredictable nature of live shows.

‎

‎Timaya is 42 years old and has over two decades of experience in the music industry. Social media users used the moment to jokingly remark on the toll of age on even seasoned performers, a reminder that even icons like Timaya can find themselves in humorous situations while connecting with fans.

‎

‎Just like many performers before him, the "Dem Mama" hit maker fell on stage is not an uncommon occurrence in the world of live music.

‎

‎In 2014, Nicki Minaj experienced a similar moment when she tripped over stage equipment during a high energy performance, quickly regaining her composure to continue the show.

ASHANTI, GHANA: Thousands of people from diverse nationalities who trooped in the Ashanti Region, around Kumasi, in Ghana, after selling their houses for a spot on Ebo Noah’s modern ark, are now left homeless after flocking to what was described as Ghana’s modern Noah’s Ark in the early morning hours of Thursday, December 25, 2025.

This followed his doomsday prophecy, which ultimately proved false after the country experienced a dry and merry Christmas. Several victims have since begun expressing their frustration publicly. Over frustration, some have moved to burn an art that was reported to be different from the Ebo Noah Ark.

One incident was recorded on the morning of December 26, when a man was seen in a 30-second video circulating on social media reportedly setting fire to an ark he believed belonged to the self-styled prophet Ebo Noah. Reports say the man had moved his wife and family closer to the structure in anticipation of the rumored flood.

Angered by what he believed was deception, he allegedly destroyed the structure, only to later learn that it had no connection to Ebo Noah, further escalating tensions and outrage.

The self-proclaimed prophet, who often appeared dressed in ancient Hebrew garments and biblical-era attire, claimed that God had revealed to him that continuous heavy rainfall would begin on December 25, 2025, leading to a catastrophic flood that would affect the entire world, with only those aboard his arks surviving.

There are confirmed reports suggesting that Ebo Noah, who postponed the supposed flood on December 25, 2025, has faced serious criticism over how he handled donations and how he lived publicly. He has been accused of using money given by followers for personal gain rather than genuine humanitarian or religious preparation.

Around the time the predicted flood date passed without incident, videos circulated online showing him with a luxury Mercedes-Benz reportedly worth about $89,000, shortly before Christmas. Many victims have recounted that after years of building his online presence and constructing arks, he appeared more focused on clout—particularly his TikTok following of about 1.2 million followers—and lifestyle than on helping people.

Wearing his Noah’s Ark construction outfit, Ebo Noah reportedly used this image to convince victims in areas such as Takoradi and Cape Coast, exploiting anyone who fell prey to his prophecy. Some followers reportedly donated large sums of money, gifts, and other valuables.

In the Bible, God is recorded as promising after Noah’s flood that He would never again destroy the earth with a flood, sealing that assurance with the rainbow as a sign of the covenant.

Despite this well-known passage, some Ghanaians—especially in the Kumasi region—appeared to overlook or dismiss the scriptural context, choosing instead to place their faith in a modern prophecy predicting another global flood by a mere mortal, Ebo Noah.

Genesis 9:11 (NIV) states: “I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”

Factually, these verses come after Noah’s flood and form what theologians call the Noahic Covenant—God’s unconditional promise that a global, earth-destroying flood would never happen again.

This is not interpretation or opinion; it is a direct biblical record widely accepted across Christian denominations and referenced in theological scholarship.

The Bible also warns that in the last days, many false prophets will rise, claiming visions and miracles to deceive people.

Matthew 24:24 (NIV) states: “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”

Ebo Noah’s predictions and the frenzy surrounding his “ark” can be viewed in light of this warning.

In today’s society, people are often drawn to charismatic claims of disaster, sometimes ignoring scripture and reason—both of which the Bible cautions against.

This episode serves as a reminder to test every prophecy against God’s Word and not be swept away by fear or spectacle.

American rapper, Thomaz Cameron Jibril, popularly known as Wiz Khalifa, is currently serving a 9-month sentence in prison in Romania for smoking cannabis during a live stage performance at the Beach, Please! Festival in Costinești mid 2024.

He was sent to prison on December 18, 2025, by a Romanian Court after one and a half years when he was caught. Cannabis is commonly referred to as a weed/marijuana.

The Romanian State Prosecutors said police found the American rapper with more than 18 grams of cannabis and that he consumed a parcel on stage in front of the large crowd.

Authorities say the act is illegal and goes against the laws of the state. The Constanța Court of Appeal said the conduct demands a harsher penalty than the original fine of 3,600 lei (about $830) initially imposed on him by a lower court.

Wiz Khalifa's arrest and imprisonment have sent a strong message through the global entertainment industry and beyond that no one is above the law and exempted from penalties for illicit drug activities.

This has by far signaled to celebrities that the stage is not a canopy for narcotics. The Romanian court decision has sounded a global alarm that the fight against illicit substances has no limitations, and cannot be bent for celebrities or prominent figures in society.

The case of Wiz Khalifa can be compared to a recent drug discovery in Liberia. Recently, a Liberian rapper, Karwoudou Cole, goes by the stage name Bucky Raw, was detained at the Monrovia Central Prison after he was caught with 31. 6 grams of marijuana at his residence by the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA)

The Liberian laws strongly prohibit illicit substances. Bucky Raw was released on bail but still faces prosecution in court. The latest trend of artists or celebrities facing punitive actions for drug offenses underscored the resolve of nations to tackle the troubling pandemic.

However, the case with Wiz Khalifa seems highly unlikely for extradition to the United States. Romanian criminologist Vlad Zaha told BBC News that it is given the U.S. legal standards, the artist’s resources, and the complex politics surrounding cannabis.

‎

The punitive actions against celebrities for drug-related offences are not new, but only highlight the uncompromising approach for the law.

‎

In 2022, basketball star Brittney Griner was sentenced to nine years in a Russian penal colony over cannabis oil found in her luggage.

‎

‎Decades earlier, in 1980, Paul McCartney was jailed in Japan for marijuana possession, forcing the cancellation of an entire tourWhat links.

MONROVIA, LIBERIA: Veteran Liberian Journalist and Publisher of the FrontPage Africa newspaper, Rodney Sieh, has cautioned the Unity Party-led government to embrace criticisms as a tool to correct its lapses and ensure good governance.

Sieh said if the government must achieve its national development goals, criticisms should be approached with solution-driven actions, instead of descending on critics and opposition voices.

The veteran journalist believes that dissenting voices have been met with resistance under the current political climate of the Unity Party government.

Sieh's assertions have awakened fresh memories about the harsh responses made by the Government's Deputy spokesperson, Daniel Sando, against a fierce critic in recent months.

It can be recalled that Deputy Information Minister, Sando strongly descended on former President George Weah's Chief of Office Staff, Lenn Eugene Nagbe for sharply criticizing the government's strides.

Sando hit at Nagbe as a "diarrhea mouth", after the opposition figure accused the Boakia-leg government of neglecting the ordinary citizens and failing to improve their livelihoods.

Sharing his insight on the political space during a recent interview, Rodney Sieh emphasized the need for the ruling Unity Party to see criticisms in good faith, and as a driving motivation to address the demands of the Liberian people.

He warned that the Unity Party government under President Joseph Boakai, firing back at critics will only distract its development agenda and create unnecessary political tensions.

“A government that fears criticism behaves like it is still in opposition,” Sieh said. “When those in power see every opposing voice as an enemy, democratic space begins to shrink", Sieh noted.

According to him, there are existing economic challenges that the government needs to tackle and improve the livelihoods of citizens. Rodney noted that the government is the chief administration of the state, and must not be engaged with issues as the one in opposition.

“Instead of fixing the economy and strengthening institutions, some officials are busy fighting journalists and citizens on Facebook,” Sieh added. “That is dangerous for a fragile democracy like ours", journalist Rodney Sieh warned.

‎Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam: After months of controversy, Liberian beauty queen Kindness Wilson has returned to global pageantry on December 20, 2025, when she participated in the Grand Finale of the Miss Cosmo 2025 pageant in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

‎

‎According to report, Miss Wilson took part in a panel discussion during the event alongside contestants from Japan, China, Thailand, and other countries, where she addressed issues of inclusion and equal representation.

‎

‎Observers at the event noted that her presentation was clear and well-articulated, a contrast to earlier incidents that drew criticism during her previous international appearances.

‎

‎Her participation at Miss Cosmo 2025 follows sustained public backlash in late September and early October 2025, when videos circulated online showing Wilson making errors while rendering Liberia’s National Anthem during an international competition.

‎

‎In a separate recording from the same period, Miss Wilson was also criticized for incorrectly stating that Liberia gained independence in 1947 in Nairobi, Kenya.

‎

‎The controversy escalated on March 31, 2025, after a video surfaced showing Wilson publicly assaulting Jumel Cassell, a student of Stella Maris Polytechnic University, who had criticized her anthem performance from the Miss Global Competition held in Thailand. The incident drew widespread public attention and social media debate.

‎

‎Subsequently, the Monrovia City Court issued a writ of arrest against Wilson on charges of simple assault, menacing, and disorderly conduct. Despite legal and public challenges, Wilson remained active in international pageantry and later appeared at the Miss Cosmo 2025 Grand Finale, an event described by organizers as a global celebration of beauty, culture, and creativity.

MONROVIA, LIBERIA: Popular Liberian musician Korte Dorbor Bazzie, goes by the stage name Kobazzie, made a surprise move before dignitaries on Thursday, December 19, 2025 at the official headquarters dedication of the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) to recognize the talent of a fast-growing young artist.

Kobazzie who was duly arranged to perform before the Liberian President, Joseph Boakia, and other top government officials at the event quickly stepped aside and handed the microphone to rising Afro-Pop star, Prince Oluwale William, known as Will Flash to prove his talent before the high-level dedication.

‎Kobazzie explained: "‎‎ I have performed before the president many times, It is time the young artists get that chance.”

The ‎trending gesture has maded rounds on the social media. Kobazzie further stated that his move was rooted in growth, continuity, and responsibility.

He emphasized that true influence is measured not by how long one occupies the spotlight, but by the willingness to create space for others to rise.

The event brought excitement about rising artists performance on a high stage. Will Flash, the reigning MLMA Afro-Pop Artist of the Year, impressed attendees with his flow and magic voice.

Will Flash, a signee of SOG Records, carried the moment confidently, performing “Tell Me,” featuring Stunn, before President Boakai, an exposure that remains rare for emerging Liberian artists without senior endorsement.

‎

Kobazzie opens up on giving the stage to Will Flash: “He is a Liberian, and he deserves the opportunity. Will Flash was going to perform, but not in front of the president. Since I had that space, I gave it to him so the president could see his talent.”

‎

Kobazzie, also called the "Lorma Boy" gained his prominence with the Bilikon Entertainment back in 2019. His catalogue includes major hits such as “Bounce” and “Nobody,” and his 2019 Bounce Remix collaboration with Nigerian superstar Davido marked a rare cross-border breakthrough for a Liberian act.

‎

He is also recognized as one of the first Liberian artists to successfully penetrate the Ghanaian and wider West African market, securing consistent airplay and performances beyond Liberia.

The school was founded in 1964 by Mid-Baptist missionaries, about two years after the church was established.
