Shaita Angels drag Small Town in league opener

The Liberia Football Association Orange Lower Women’s league 2022/2023 season got underway over the weekend with a scintillating start for highly rated Shiata Angels.
Shaita Angels began their lower league campaign with a comfortable 4-1 victory over debutant Small Town FC on Sunday, at the famous open-air George Weah Technical Center in Careysburg City, Montserrado County.
A goal from Nelresa Teah in the opening five minutes of play gave Shaita Angeles an early minutes lead on Sunday.
Player Bendu Harris extended Shaita Angel’s lead before debutant Erica Parson registered her name on the scoring sheet with a right-footed strike inside the box giving Shaita Angels a comfortable 3-0 lead towards the end of the first-half break.

After the first half break, Julia Carlson, one of the promising players on Shaita Angels extended her team’s lead with their only goal in the second half and a cancellation goal from the visitors ended the match 4-1 in favor of the well-experienced Shaita Angels.
Brilliant ball control and an entertaining display by the Angels of Careysburg on Sunday left Small Town with no option but to sit at the back and play with a counter.
With such a performance from the Angels, they remain the league’s favorite and a return to the top flight seems to be underway for the Careysburg representatives if only they continue what was displayed against Small Town on Sunday.
In a related development, ahead of their league opener on Sunday, Shaita Angels Football Club announced a two-year shirts sponsorship deal with Sway Solid Waste Management Solutions valued at 1.5 million dollars with an option of a year extension.
“We are pleased to announce Sway Solid Waste Management Solutions as our new kit sponsor.
We have signed a two-year year deal worth L $1.5 million, with an option to extend,” the club announced via their official Facebook page on Sunday afternoon.
