Speaker Chambers Challenges Firestone to do the ‘Needful’

MARGIBI: House Speaker, Dr. Bhofal Chambers has challenged the Management of Firestone Liberia to do the ‘needful’ by ensuring that residents in its operational areas are protected, following the death of a two-year girl in Harbel.
Recently, little Mary Dahn died as a result of falling into an open skeptic tank in the operational area of the Company.
The child reportedly sat over the septic tank which was covered with mosquito net and old ceiling tiles, eventually causing her to sink.
The damaged septic tank was on September 5, 2022, repaired by casting.
However, speaking when he presented one hundred thousand Liberian Dollars to the girl’s family in Harbel, speaker Chambers intoned that the death of the child is an issue of grave concern and that Firestone must shoulder some responsibilities, especially to the girl’s parents.
For his part in receiving the cash, the father of the deceased, Mark Dahn, lauded speaker Chambers for the gesture. According to him, the company has been helping since the death of his two-year-old daughter.
