Speaker Chambers Seeks Peaceful Election, Warns Electorate Against Violence

PAYNESVILLE, Monrovia- The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Bhofal Chambers, has called on Liberians to be peaceful and avoid violence during and after the conduct of the presidential and legislative elections scheduled for October 10, this year.

The Speaker’s advice to the electorates comes ahead of the National Elections Commission’s official pronouncement of campaign activities this Saturday, August 5.

In a telephone interview with State Radio, Speaker Chambers admonished Liberians to be supportive of the peace process in the country and tolerate the views and aspirations of each other without violence in these elections.

He also used the occasion to laud President George Weah for what he called, championing the course of peace, he said “Liberians can emulate”.
