Tragedy As Conjoined twins Reported Dead Hours after GOL’s Announced Intervention
Knews has gathered that the conjoined twins given birth to in Lofa County have died at the Tellewoyan Hospital in Voinjama, the county’s capital.
According to report, the sad event happened at 2am on Monday as preparations were underway to have them transported to Monrovia for proper care.
The death of the twins happened hours after President George Weah had instructed Health Minister Wilhemina Jallah to immediately facilitate the transport to Monrovia of the conjoined twins given birth to at the Tellewoyan Hospital in Voinjama, Lofa.
The babies were reported to have been born on Saturday, June 11, 2022 physically connected to each other. The President wanted the Minister of Health and her team to examine them and determine what needs to be done in order to ensure they and their mother receive the best medical attention possible.
Sadly, the infant died before help could arrive.
Babies born joined together is a rare medical phenomenon and has therefore become of particular interest to the International medical community.
