Liberian Musical Star “Jzyno” Explores Nigeria on Musical Learning Spree

MONROVIA – Liberian artist Jonathan Lee Pratt, popularly known as Jzyno is currently in Nigeria for a week-long music learning class.

Writing on one of his social media handles, Jzyno said “I came [to] Nigeria to learn; just for a week.” “Afrobeats classes.”

Before departing he earlier posted: “[I] on my way to Nigeria. Follow my Facebook and Instagram stories from today going; for one week straight. I will be posting the happenings on stories only,” he said.

In another post, the star wrote: “I’m currently at Banky W. studio. My music classes started today.”

He was also seen with a tutor standing behind the mic doing what looks like a musical practice.

Later, the star visited the Empire Mates Entertainment headquarters in Ikeja Nigeria. Empire Mate is a Nigerian record label founded by ‘Banky W’ in 2002.

The record label was home to one of Africa’s most recognized and multiple award-winning afro beat hatemakers Wizkid.

The Liberian afro beat singer and song writer is making head ways for his country’s industry despite the challenges it is faced with.

The award-winning artist’s latest single “Butter My Bread” featuring Ghanaian artist Lasmid, is ranked the top four on afrobeat top ten chart.

Since the release of his latest masterpiece, the song has been streamed by several TikTok celebrities in the world and is being highly played in numerous African countries, as well as in the West.

In his latest post, the star stated that his ‘Butter My Bread’ song currently ranks number one in Liberia and Ghana on Audiomack, a youth-driven music streaming platform. It also ranks Number 3 in Cameroon.

In Ghana, the hit song also ranks 5 among the top 25 songs on the Apple music chart.

Fans have seen his trip as a huge step owing to the importance of the Nigerian music industry on the African Continent and are wishing him all the best.
