President George Weah has reaffirms his government’s commitment to upholding the peace in the pending General Election in the country.
The Liberian leader made the statement when he delivered his 6th and final State of the nation address up Capitol Hill.
He said the 2023 Election is the first to be primarily organized and administered by Liberia since the end of the United Nations Peace Keeping mission in 2018.
Pres. Weah wants Liberians to demonstrate to the world that they are a peace-loving nation and that it is capable and ready to undertake elections in a free and creditable process.
The Liberian leader said his government remains committed to free, fair, and transparent elections, and vows to respect the democratic will of the Liberian people.
He thanked his partners; Sweden, Irish land, ECOWAS, THE EU, UNDP, and the UN PEACE building funds for their assistance in the electoral process, and for their partnership and collaboration to support the National Elections Commissions.
