Supreme Court Summons Sen. Saah Joseph and Rep. Edward Flomo For Obstructing Court’s Order in Land Dispute Case- Latest Liberian News

Tempel of Justice-The Judge of the Civil Law Court, Kennedy Peabody has summoned Montserrado County Senator Saah Joseph and Representative Edward Flomo in contempt for obstructing the Supreme Court’s order.

Judge Peabody summoned Senator Joseph and District #13 Rep. Flomo to show probable cause while they should not be held in contempt for interfering in a land dispute case before the high court.

“You are hereby commanded to summon the above-named defendants to appear before this court on Friday, April 7, 3023 at the hour of 9:00 AM to show cause if any why they should not be held in contempt of court for obstructing the mandate of the Honorable Supreme Court of the Republic of Liberia,” court’s order.”

Recently, the Supreme Court mandated officers of the Police to demolish a piece of property situated in District 13 which has been in dispute, involving the management of Younis Brothers Liberia against Pastor George and the Supreme Court ruled it should be demolished.

However, on 25th March 2023, Senator Saah Joseph rushed to intervene after being informed by Representative Flomo of the demolition exercise around the CEMENCO Community; thus putting a stop to it.

The Montserrado Senator, having arrived on the scene, requested the police who were enforcing the demolition exercise to see the document from the court ordering the action of ejectment.

But the commander resisted and stated to the Senator that he was acting on the order of the court, as such he was not questionable to the CDC lawmaker. However, Senator Joseph intercepted, and the exercise was put to a halt.

Meanwhile, Senator Joseph and Flomo are to appear before the Court on Friday at 9:00 am.

According to the writ, upon their failure to show up, they will be arrested for disrespecting the writ of Summon issued on April 6, 2023.
