Liberia United Methodist Church Stands Firm Against Homosexuality "we didn't Sign Any Amendment "

Monrovia: issue of the United Methodist Church in Liberia signing unto homosexual/gay practice in the church by LGBTQ people, has sparked Serious attention among the youthful population with in the United Methodist Church and in the Christian community in Liberia.

On June 7. 2024 10:00 GMT, the youthful population with in all the United Methodist Church in Liberia assemble at the st Trowen Nagbe United Methodist Church in Sinkor between 13 &14 street protesting against homosexual/gay practice in the United Methodist Church.

The aggrieved youths of the United Methodist Church headed by Alfred Mensah protest on Friday against Bishop Samuel Quire in Monrovia on grounds that he has Signed unto Homosexualism.

The protesters claim that Bishop Quire allegedly signed documents supporting same-sex marriage within the Methodist denomination while in the United States of America.

During the protest, spokesperson Alfred Mansah stated to reporters that the act of same-sex marriage goes against the teachings of God, and as such, members of the church will resist it." 

Recently A conference was held from the 3rd of May in charlotte, USA, with a total membership( clergy) in attendance at four hundred and forty-seven to amend or repeal the 52-year old issue of Same sex marriages in all United Methodist churches, In the conference, majority African delegates voted against the amendment terming it as evil and against the word of God.

"We the youthful population of the United Methodist Church will not tolerate any form Of Homosexualism or man marrying man or Woman marrying woman. This is a warning to all of our Bishops including Bishop Kula and Bishop Quire "Do not agree to the U.S Amendment". Mensah said during the protest 

591 voted against 5 persons, majority white, voted in favor of the same sex marriage with Vermont United Methodist Church clergywoman as lead campaigner. 

For theAfrican community, senior clergy man Rev. Jerry Kulah of Liberia Dean of theology of the UMC/ UMU lead a blistering campaign against same sex marriage for his block to vote against same sex marriage with all existing marriages rights in the United Methodist Churches being repeal or trash-out.

"Am Bishop Jerry Kula here from Liberia, and as you can see I have my Bible in my hand, am speaking against the amendment because we do t not have another Bible and so we cannot have the Two options that the amendment offers to us and So I Vote against the Amendment" Bishop Kula said with a Bible Scripture from first Thimoty three Sixteen backing his words.

Meanwhile The United Methodist Church in Liberia has finally spoken out on the against the deadly decision reached recently by the United Methodist conference in United Sates to embrace the homosexual/gay practice in the church by LGBTQ people, with Bishop Samuel J Quire.

In the press conference with Numerous of Liberian Journalists, Bishop Jerry Quire said Whether regionalization is ratified or not, the Liberia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will not conduct any weddings or ordinations of self-avowed, practicing homosexuals.

He said his statement is to set the record straight about what happened at the general conference, what it means for his denomination, the worldwide United Methodist Church, and how the United Methodist Church in Liberia will be operated going forward. 

"You have heard a lot of messages being shared on social media about human sexuality and the United Methodist Church in Liberia. Some of these messages are misleading and very derogatory. As a matter of fact, there was a group of young people who came out with placards carrying some of these demeaning messages,”. Bishop Quire told Journalists.

Bishop Quire also told Journalists that the church is a strong Church of God administering to sinners who are in need of the saving knowledge and grace of God.

"To all United Methodists in Liberia and our Liberian Public, the United Methodist Church is not a gay Church.” Bishop Quire Noted.

The head of the United Methodist Church in Liberia however, strongly cautioned all clergy members of the church as well as lay persons of Liberia Annual Conference of the Church to refrain from undermining the ministry of the United Methodist Church in Liberia.

Bishop Quire climax his statement to the press by saying: “Our mission is to make disciples of all nations baptize them in the name of Father, the Son and the holy spirit, and to teach them to obey all that God has commanded us".

Stigmatized the United Methodist Church 

LLiberias have already started blackmailing rhe United Methodist Church of being a Gay and Lesbian Congreation.

The protest conducted by Alfred Mensah and the entire Youth of UMC got the attention of Liberians.While the Bishop was away, news surface in Liberia that UMC Bishop has Signed unto Homosexualism.
