Maryland: Medica Liberia has concluded an inter-high school debate competition among five senior high schools in Greenville, Sinoe County, under the theme “The Impact of School-Related Violence on Inclusive and Accessible Education for Students.”

The debate included Seebeh High School, Sinoe High School, Harrison Grigsby United Methodist High School, J. Milton Teajeh High School, and St. Paul High School.

The event, organized by Medica Liberia with funding from Monteca, one of its strongest implementing partners, saw the awarding of significant prizes to the three winning schools.

The first-place winners of the debate received a cash prize of $100 USD, the second-place winners received $75 USD, and the third-place winners received $50 USD.

At the end of the event, Sinoe High School was crowned the champion, followed by St. Paul High School in second place, and Harrison Grigsby United Methodist High School in third place.

The organizers urged students who were not part of the debate to view themselves as change-makers and support their peers.

Meanwhile, students from the five participating schools lauded Medica Liberia and Monteca for their efforts to combat school violence and support school-going children.
