National Port Authority Managing Director Sekou Dukuly and Commerce Minister Amin Modad have both differed over the operation of Global Tracking Maritime Services/Cargo Tracking Note .

At the Senate Hearing at the Capitol Building June 12, 2024

At a senate hearing with authorities of the GTMS, Commerce Minister Modad informed the senate that he is not in support of GTMS operation in Liberia while expressing his support for MEDTECH to remain and operate at the Freeport of Monrovia.

But in reaction, National Port Authority Managing Dukuly asserted that GTMS is more useful in its operation at the free port of Monrovia contrary to claims by the Commerce Minister.

According to reports, it was disclosed by the Liberia Revenue Authority Commissioner General Dorbor Jallah that fees collected by the CTN at the Freeport is not remitted to the LRA but rather 10 percent is given to the NPA and remaining funds stay with the authorities of the GTMS.

Meanwhile, the General Manager of the GTMS Aminata Bangoura disclosed that the institution which operates the Cargo Tracking Services at the FreePort of Monrovia provides enormous benefits to the Government of Liberia despite the huge propaganda against the institution.

She maintained that her institution is operating legally in Liberia.
