Representative Jerry Yorgbor Accused of Lying About Market Rebuilding Promise
Gardnesville Township Liberia: Several marketers and citizens from Chicken Soup Factory, District 12, Montserrado County, have accused their representative, Jerry Yorgbor, of lying and taking advantage of the district’s resources. They claim he made promises during the 2023 general election that he has failed to keep.
The marketers say that during his campaign, Yorgbor promised to build a new market to replace the old one if he won the election. In return, the marketers supported his candidacy. However, after his victory, nothing changed.
The marketers say that when they try to speak with him about the market project, he either insults them or ignores their questions. They feel they have been left without answers.
One marketer said, “Mr. Yorgbor lied to us. He promised to rebuild our market as soon as he win, but since his victory, nothing has happened. We can’t even see him, and when we try, he tells us not to tell him what to do.” The marketers said

Now, the marketers are asking President Joseph Boakai for help in rebuilding the market, saying that their representative has failed them.
In response to recent inquiries, the office of Representative Jerry Yorgbor has issued clarification regarding claims of a promise to rebuild the market. Mr. Jeremiah Alexson Paye, Chief of Staff for Representative Yorgbor, stated that he is not aware of any commitment made by the representative to rebuild the market. Instead, Representative Yorgbor plans to engage with local marketers and collaborate on providing financial empowerment opportunities, including loan schemes as previously mentioned.
Mr. Paye provided this information on behalf of Representative Yorgbor, who represents District 12 in Montserrado County, during a mobile phone conversation.
