Joint PAC Chair Blasts Pres. Boakai Action Against CBL Governor: Calls for Non-interference with PAC’s Work

Capitol Hill: The Joint Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Liberian Legislature has warned President Boakai against interfering with the committee's work following his suspension of individuals implicated in audit reports.

The PAC, chaired by Representative Clarence Gahr, is reviewing 180 audit reports from the General Auditing Commission (GAC).

Gahr specifically criticized President Boakai for suspending Central Bank Governor Aloysius Tarlue, who is linked to financial irregularities in a GAC audit.

Gahr emphasized that the President does not have the authority to unilaterally suspend individuals to clear their names from audit allegations.
