President Boakai's Dinner Meeting Draws Criticism and Unity Pledge"

Several opposition political pundits have criticized President Boakai for hosting a working dinner with the leadership of the legislature and judiciary branches of the Liberian government.

Political pundits, primarily from the CDC, classified the President's call to the leadership of the legislature and judiciary as another misuse of the country's resources.

Those political pundits who declined to disclose their identities referred to former President Weah's administration, noting that it never convened such meetings with the leadership of both houses and the judiciary, citing concerns over the expenditure of public funds.

During former President George Weah's tenure, a similar meeting was convened but was not open to the public and media outlets, unlike President Boakai's recent open door gathering that saw the presences of Several Journalists from Kool 91.9 fm, Spoon TV, Okay 99.5 fm ELBC and other media outlets.

Over the weekend, President Joseph Nyuma convened an important legislative meeting at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town. 

President Boakai, Speaker Koffa, and Vice President Jeremiah koung.

The aim of the meeting, according to Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah, was to unite the various branches of government and improvement on key governmental processes.

Minister Piah said there are issues; including budgetary constraints affecting the legislative and judiciary branches that prompted President Boakai to initiate the meeting to collectively address these concerns.

The gathering saw high participation from the leadership of both the Lower and Upper Houses of the Legislature, with Pro Tempore Nyonblee Kangar Lawrence and House Speaker Fonati Koffa in attendance. Chief Justice Sia Nah Nyoh also participated putting forth the judiciary agenda before the president.

At the conclusion of the session, all three branches of government pledged to align their efforts with President Boakai's agenda for the betterment of the nation.

Minister Piah also spoke about Speaker Koffah's recent concerns regarding budgetary limitations, assuring that the outcomes of the president meeting would effectively resolve such issues.
