All 242 People on Air India Plane That Crashed Have Been Confirmed Dead

Breaking News: It has been confirmed that all 242 people on board the Air India plane that crashed near Ahmedabad have died.

The flight was headed to London’s Gatwick Airport but disappeared from radar minutes after departing at 1:39 p.m. local time.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a huge fireball and thick black smoke at the crash site, which is in a nearby residential area. Authorities confirmed that all 242 passengers and crew, including 169 Indian nationals, 53 British, 7 Portuguese, and 1 Canadian citizen, have died.

The pilots sent a “Mayday” emergency call just before losing contact. Flight tracking site Flightradar24 also lost signal from the plane shortly after.
