President Boakai Nominates Associate Justice Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay as New Chief Justice

Monrovia, Liberia: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has nominated Associate Justice Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay as the next Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia.

The nomination follows the retirement of Chief Justice Sie-A-Nyene Yuoh, as required by the Constitution.

President Boakai has asked the Liberian Senate to quickly confirm Justice Gbeisay, describing him as a man of integrity and legal excellence.

If confirmed, Justice Gbeisay will lead the nation’s highest court until retirement at the age of 70.
