“She was Arrested In Her Birthday Suit” Cllr. Pearl Bull Accuses Police of Violating Mary Broh’s Privacy

Monrovia, Liberia: one of Liberia’s top lawyers, Cllr. Pearl Brown-Bull, has accused officers of the Liberia National Police (LNP) of storming the home of former General Services Agency (GSA) Director, Mary Broh, while she was completely naked!
Cllr. Bull, who is one of the signatories to Liberia’s 1986 Constitution and now serves as legal counsel for Madam Broh, didn’t hold back when addressing journalists in Monrovia.
“When the police entered Mary Broh’s house, she was naked! She had just come from the bathroom—the way her ma born her!” Cllr. Bull exclaimed, drawing gasps and chuckles from onlookers.
“The police said they were searching for rice inside the woman’s house! By 6 a.m., they already had her arrested,” she added.
The former GSA boss, along with ex-Foreign Minister Dee-Maxwell Kemayah and former National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) Director Henry Williams, faces serious allegations of conspiring to mismanage and divert over 29,000 bags of rice donated by Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in April 2023. The rice, valued at more than US$425,000, was intended for vulnerable Liberians.
While the case surrounding the “missing rice” continues to generate public outrage, the dramatic scene surrounding Madam Broh’s arrest has added a new layer of controversy raising questions about privacy, police procedure, and human dignity.
Efforts by this paper to get a response from the Liberia National Police have so far been unsuccessful. Multiple calls and follow-ups to the LNP’s Press and Public Affairs Department rang unanswered up to press time.
In the meantime, as the legal battle intensifies, many Liberians are now left discussing not just the missing rice—but also how the former GSA boss was reportedly picked up at dawn… just as she came into this world.
