"Reshuffle Now or Risk Collapse" – Bishop Kortu Brown Urges Boakai to Act Amid 'Severe Underperformance'

Monrovia, Liberia: As Liberia continues its journey toward democratic consolidation and socio-economic development, the former President of the Liberia Council of Churches, Bishop Kortu Brown, is calling on President Joseph Nyumah Boakai to carry out a major reshuffling of key government officials.
Bishop Brown believes such a move is crucial to revitalizing governance and enhancing public service delivery across critical sectors, warning that failure to act may hinder national progress.
“There is a growing culture of underperformance that must not be ignored,” Bishop Brown stated. “A conscious effort must be made to replace officials who are not meeting expectations.”
He likened the situation to a football match, where substitutions are necessary when players fail to deliver.
“When a player isn’t performing, the coach has to make a change. It’s the same with governance,” he asserted. “If an official loses momentum or capacity to serve, the President must act to keep the government on track.”
Bishop Brown expressed concern that continued inefficiency within certain ministries and agencies could undermine the Boakai-Koung Administration's legacy and, more importantly, the hopes of the Liberian people.
“The success or failure of this government will be felt most by the ordinary citizens—not the officials in charge,” he warned.
He further advised that government officials must focus less on praise and political glorification and more on producing results.
“This administration must not be turned into a choir of self-praise,” Bishop Brown cautioned
