Shakira Hints at Being Open to Casual Fling Following Split from Gerard Pique

Shakira has hinted she might be open to a casual fling, even as she remains not quite ready for a formal relationship, two years after her split from longtime partner Gerard Pique.

The Colombian star, 47, and the Spanish footballer, 37, were together for 11 years and share two children, Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9. They separated in 2022 amid rumors of Pique's infidelity with his now-girlfriend Clara Chia.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Shakira candidly discussed her dating life. "What space do I have for a man right now?" she said. "I like men. That's the problem. I shouldn't like them with everything that's happened to me, but imagine how much I like men that I still like them."

Since their split, Shakira has been linked to several high-profile figures, including Tom Cruise and Lewis Hamilton. Most recently, she has been spotted with Lucien Laviscount, who featured in her "Puntería" music video. Despite rumors, Shakira insists her children are her priority and she isn't seeking a relationship at the moment.

However, she isn't opposed to a future fling, stating, "Hey, I'm not opposed to having friends." She also shared her positive outlook, saying she's got her "sexy back" and more "swag."

Reflecting on the difficult period following her split and her father's health struggles, Shakira described the pain as the greatest she had ever experienced. She spoke about the sacrifices made during her relationship with Gerard and the journey to rediscover herself post-separation.

Shakira, who moved to Barcelona for Gerard's career, noted changes in herself during that time. Now residing in Miami with her children, she is happy to have her Caribbean accent back and to be reconnecting with her roots.

Despite her past, Shakira still believes in love, inspired by her parents' 50-year marriage. She remains hopeful for a romance like theirs, though she describes monogamy as "utopia."
