Young Man Stabbed to Death During Robbery Attempt in Kakata

Margibi County — A young man was tragically killed Saturday night in Kakata, Margibi County, during a robbery attempt that has left the community in shock.
Michael Freeman, a 20-year-old from Monrovia, was fatally stabbed in the neck around 7:30 p.m. The suspect, identified as Prince Kanneh—also known by his street name “God First”—allegedly attacked Freeman as he was returning home with family members.
According to family accounts, Freeman and his aunt had traveled from Monrovia to Kakata to attend a family graduation ceremony.
Freeman’s grandfather, Tee Harris Worlobah, shared that after the celebration, Freeman stayed behind to help transport chairs and other items used for the event. While on their way home, Freeman and his companions were reportedly confronted by a group of assailants who attempted to steal his Bluetooth headphones.
When Freeman resisted, the suspect allegedly stabbed him in the neck with a sharp object, believed to be a pair of scissors.
Freeman was rushed to the Barkolleh Health Center, a private clinic, where staff were unable to manage his severe injuries.
He was later transferred to the Kakata Health Center, where he succumbed to blood loss and was pronounced dead at approximately 10:30 p.m., nearly three hours after the attack.
Following the tragic incident, police launched an intensive manhunt that led to the arrest of Prince Kanneh on Sunday evening in Barnerville.
Law enforcement sources confirmed that Kanneh is now in custody in Monrovia, where he is undergoing questioning as the investigation continues.
