“Witchcraft Against Education!” Bong Students Roast District #3 Rep. Cole Over Library Scandal

Monrovia, Liberia: Anger is mounting in Bong County as the Bong County Students Union (BONSU) launches a ferocious attack on District #3 Representative Josiah Marvin Cole, accusing him of deliberately sabotaging the future of young people by abandoning a crucial student library project.
In a bold statement that shook the local education and political circles, BONSU described Rep. Cole’s alleged neglect of the long-awaited library as “witchcraft against education” and called for immediate action. The union is demanding that he either completes the project without delay or returns the US$50,000 allocated from the County Social Development Fund.
The library, intended to be a center of learning and research, now stands half-done and decaying in the Gboveh Hills Community, just behind the Bong County Technical College. BONSU says the building has been left at the roofing level and is now being misused for open defecation and other unwholesome activities.
The project was approved by the County Council in 2018 following an appeal by former Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor. Students say what was envisioned as a tool to empower future leaders has instead become a symbol of abandonment and shame.
Even more troubling, BONSU alleges that on September 12, 2022, Rep. Cole ordered the removal of remaining construction materials from a rented storage facility after failing to pay the property owner as agreed. The materials were reportedly taken to an unknown location by the lawmaker’s associates, leaving the project to crumble further.
“Rep. Cole has demonstrated total disregard for the academic future of the very people he claims to represent,” BONSU declared. “His actions are not just negligent they are a direct attack on every struggling student, every market mother, and every father hoping for a better future for their child.”
As the official mother body of all student groupings in Bong County, BONSU said it will not remain silent while public money is wasted and students are denied access to critical academic resources. The union issued a final warning: Rep. Cole must complete the project or face what they call “an unspecified but certain revolutionary response from the student masses.”
The students ended their statement with a clear message: “This is not politics this is about the soul of education in Bong County. The days of silence are over. The students are awake, united, and ready.”
