PYJ Widow Endorses Rep. Korgar as Candidate for Nimba Senate Seat

Monrovia, Liberia – In a significant political development, Mrs. Amira Boyidee Johnson, the widow of the late Senator Prince Y. Johnson of Nimba County, has officially endorsed Representative Samuel G. Korgar to replace her late husband as the next senator of Nimba in the upcoming by-election.
The endorsement took place during a private meeting at the late Senator Johnson’s residence, which also included Vice President Jeremiah Koung and executives of the Movement for Democratic Reconstruction (MDR). The gathering marked a pivotal moment in the race to fill the Nimba Senate seat, following the passing of Senator Johnson, a longtime political figure in the region.
Representative Samuel G. Korgar, who currently serves as the elected representative for Nimba’s District #5, is poised to join the MDR officially in the near future. His candidacy is widely anticipated, with many political observers already considering him the presumptive candidate for the party in the by-election.
Mrs. Johnson’s endorsement is seen as a key move in solidifying Korgar’s position as a leading contender for the seat. The late Senator Prince Y. Johnson was a central figure in Nimba politics, and the decision to back Korgar is expected to have significant influence over the upcoming election.
As the political landscape in Nimba continues to evolve, all eyes will be on the formal announcement of Korgar’s candidacy, as well as the by-election campaigns in the coming months.
