Breaking News: House’s Crisis Depends as Koon’s Majority Bloc Suspends Additional Minority Bloc Members

Monrovia, Liberia: The self-styled majority bloc of Liberia’s House of Representatives at the 55th Legislature headed by controversial Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon has suspended Representative Muka K. Kamara and Representative Jerry Yorgbor of Montserrado County Electoral Districts 14 and 12, respectively.

According to communication under the signature of Madam Mildred Sayon, Chief Clerk of the Lower Houses, the majority bloc notified the above-mentioned lawmakers of their suspensions for being absent from five legislative sessions, which amounts to two and a half weeks.

The suspension stemmed from the lawmakers failure to obtain an excuse from the House’s leadership in contravention of Rule 21.1 of the House’s Rules and Procedure.

As a result, in accordance with Rule 48.7c, they are suspended for 30 session days, during which salaries, allowances, and other privileges of the mentioned lawmakers will remain suspended.

The suspension of Representative Yorgbor and Kamara comes barely forty-eight hours after tough-talking Representative Yekeh Yarkpawolo Koulbah of Montserrado County Electoral District 10.

Representative Kolubah suffers the similar fate of the suspension of salary, allowances and other amenities for thirty (30) session days
