BREAKING NEWS: Supreme Court Disqualifies Koon, Confirms Koffa as Speaker
Capitol Hill, Liberia: The Supreme Court has ruled that Representative Koon cannot act as Speaker.
The Court confirmed that J. Fonati Koffa remains the only legal Speaker of the House.
According to the Court, any House session led by someone else while the elected Speaker is present and not sick or absent is a violation of the Constitution.
Chief Justice Yuoh said:
“Any meeting led by someone else while the elected Speaker is present is against the Constitution.”
The majority bloc has been ordered to follow this ruling moving forward.
