Liberian Senate Approves Transfer of Late Senator Johnson’s Chair to Nimba Museum

Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberian Senate has approved the transfer of the chair used by the late Senator Prince Y. Johnson to a museum in Sanniquellie, Nimba County, as a tribute to his legacy.

The request was made by the people of Nimba through Senator Nya Twayen, who formally relayed it to the Senate. Senate Pro Tempore Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence also supported the request, emphasizing its historical and cultural significance to the people of Nimba.

Following deliberations, the Senate granted approval, and the Sergeant-at-Arms officially removed the chair from the Senate chambers. Plans are underway to transport it to Nimba County at a later date, where it will be preserved as a symbol of remembrance for the late senator.

Prince Y. Johnson, a controversial yet influential figure in Liberian politics, represented Nimba County in the Senate for several years. The decision to preserve his chair in a museum is seen as a gesture to honor his impact on the region.
