Maryland: The superintendent of Maryland County has ordered the immediate closure of four Mining Companies in District 3, Karluway Statutory District.
According to Superintendent Henry Cole, his decision was reached after the four companies failed to attend a meeting arranged by him with various Mining Companies in the district.
According to Superintendent Cole, the meeting was intended to allow the companies present their mining documents to the County authorities, and to explain their legalities in the county, but unfortunately, only the Jupiter Mining Company attended the meeting, while four companies including the Soar Mining Company operating in Gbeken Township, Dupe Mining Company operating in Karloken, AB Mining Company, and a Mining Company belonging to District 3 former Representative Isaac Roland Blalu, failed to attend the meeting.
He termed the absence of those four companies as a direct signal that they (the companies) are under the shadows of illegal activities.
"Their abrupt absence shows that they are not obeying the laws of our country, and they are illegal." He said.
Superintendent Henry Cole urged the Maryland's joint Security to take immediate charge of the orders implementation.
The Superintendent's mandate took effect since Saturday, June 22, 2023 at 4pm.
