U.S President Trump Takes Action to Ban Transgender Women from Women’s Sports”
Washington D.C USA: President Donald Trump took action on Wednesday to address a key issue in his 2024 campaign: banning transgender women from playing in women’s sports.
Trump signed an order called “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” in a ceremony at the White House, with women and girls in sports uniforms around him.
“This order ends the war on women’s sports,” Trump said.
The order focuses on following a law called Title IX, which stops discrimination based on sex in education programs that get federal funding. It also deals with how the government works with private businesses.
This new order is different from what President Biden’s administration had done. Biden made a rule saying that schools are breaking Title IX if they don’t let transgender students play on sports teams. Trump’s order says that women’s sports need to be safe, fair, and private, which means only women should compete in them.
Some people say transgender athletes have an unfair advantage, but research does not prove this. Studies show that transgender women do not have an athletic advantage once they take hormones. There are also no rules against cisgender women who are taller or stronger than others.
The White House official said they will make more rules and check if schools are following the new order. Schools that don’t follow it could lose federal funding.
Trump has also talked about getting rid of the Department of Education. If that happens, the White House said they will find other ways to make sure the new policies are carried out.
The Trump administration also wants to work with sports organizations and plans to bring them to the White House to hear from female athletes and their families.
