Monrovia, Liberia: The House of Representatives Joint Committee on Compliance Review has officially summoned the Chairman of the National Investment Commission (NIC), Mr. Jeff B. Blibo, alongside members of the Inter-Ministerial Concessions Committee (IMCC), to appear before a critical compliance review meeting.
This high-level session is scheduled for Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at noon in the Speaker's Conference Room, located in the New Annex of the Capitol Building.
At the heart of the agenda is a comprehensive review of ArcelorMittal Liberia’s (AML) operations, focusing on the multinational’s adherence to Liberia’s regulatory standards and concession agreements throughout its 20 years of activity in the country.
Representative Foday E. Fahnbulleh of Bong County Electoral District #7, who chairs the Joint Committee, underscored the importance of the review, noting it will promote transparency, accountability, and robust oversight in concession-related governance.
This meeting will not only assess AML’s past performance but will help us pinpoint compliance gaps and guide future policies that serve Liberia’s long-term interests,” Representative Fahnbulleh stated.
All summoned parties have been urged to attend punctually and come fully prepared with detailed documentation and reports, including historical performance metrics, compliance records, and data reflecting collaboration with the Government of Liberia.
The outcome of the meeting is expected to influence both current concession practices and the strategic investment environment moving forward.
