Bo City, Sierra Leone: Liberia's representative in the qualifiers of the 2024 CAF Women's Champions League, Determine Girls, has begun their journey in Sierra Leone with an impressive start, winning two successive matches in the ongoing qualifiers.

The Liberia Upper Women's League champions collected their first win against the Red Scorpions of Gambia 2-1, before securing another victory, 3-1, over As Mande of Mali during the week in Sierra Leone.

The results have put Determine Girls at the top of the chart in the ongoing CAF Women's Champions League WAFU Zone A qualifiers with 6 points accumulated from two matches.

The Liberian representative, Determine Girls, is grouped with the Red Scorpion of Gambia, AS Mandé of Mali, the Eagle of the Medina of Senegal and the Mogbwemo Queens of Sierra Leone in the WAFU Zone A of the qualifiers.

The ongoing qualifiers cut across 6 sub-zonal confederations of Confederation of African Football which are playing on a round-robin basis (one match with each zone member) with the first winner from each Zone advancing to the main tournament later this month in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

With the great fight put up so far, Determine Girls Head Coach Patience Gwah will be hoping to pick another good result as the club faces off against Mogbwemo Queens of Sierra Leone on Thursday, August 8, in her third encounter in a showdown at the Southern Arena Stadium in Sierra Leone.

As the qualifiers continue, Determine Girls, Red Scorpion, AS Mandé, Eagle of the Medina and Mogbwemo Queens are scrambling for the top spot in the zone to produce the representative for the WAFU Zone A to the tournament.

The 4th edition of the CAF Women's Champions League will feature 8 teams, six from each of the zonal confederation from the qualifiers with, defending champions Mamelodi Sundown of South Africa and official host of the tournament, Commercial Bank of Ethiopia "CBE" FC already gained a spot to the final tournament.
