Youth and Sports Coordinator Takes Steps to Restore Calm Among Grand Gedeh Youth
The Youth and Sports Coordinator for Grand Gedeh County, Mr. George Dogbeh, recently held his inaugural acquaintance meeting with stakeholders to address misunderstandings among young people and to promote free, fair, and transparent elections. The meeting took place on September 20, 2024, in Zwedru City.
Seventeen stakeholders from both government and civil society organizations attended, including representatives from local authorities, FLY, Joint Security, and LINSU.
"Since my appointment to lead the youth in this county, I am committed to working with the entire youth population to address the lack of representation and to ensure a peaceful electoral process," Dogbeh stated.
This initiative by the Ministry of Youth and Sports comes in response to years of misunderstandings regarding youth leadership in Grand Gedeh.
Mr. Raymond Wah, a representative from civil society organizations, commended the coordinator and urged for greater inclusion of CSOs in planning election activities.
Additionally, the Joint Security and various youth organizations expressed their support for ensuring that Grand Gedeh’s youth are fully represented in the electoral process. They recommended that the coordinator collaborate closely with youth from the eight administrative districts to ensure adequate representation during the elections.
